Permanent Lip Color

What Makes Permanent Lip Color So Popular?

Permanent lip color is one of our most requested procedures here at Fabulously Flawless. But what makes it so popular? Our clients love the long-lasting results of fuller, even looking, and more colorful lips. The procedure can also solve issues such as excessively thin lips, pale lips, undefined lips, or allergies to makeup that prevents the use of lipstick.

A cosmetic tattoo can visually transform the appearance of your lips. You can finally have those full, seductive lips that you’ve always dreamed of without having to get filler injections. The permanent lip color procedure is also more affordable and non-invasive. Lip micro-pigmentation can be used to cover up scars, and correct skin discoloration. Also, women who have movement impairments, arthritis or jittery hands that have difficulty applying lip liner and lipstick find permanent lip color incredibly liberating.

Permanent lip color can be a true time saver too. No more penciling in your lips and reapplying your lipstick several times a day. Now your lip color isn’t going to change or smear when you eat or drink. There will be no lipstick marks left behind after kissing. Your lips will remain bright and beautiful 24/7.

So, what’s involved?
Permanent lip liner or full lip blending is achieved by implanting a natural hypo-allergenic pigment in the upper dermal layer of the skin. Though we recommend that all of our lip procedure clients get a dental block the day of their procedure to reduce any discomfort, the procedure is relatively pain-free. After the procedure, there may be some swelling to the area, but the healing time is short, and the results are long-lived.

No matter what kind of permanent cosmetic procedure you are considering keep this in mind – Permanent makeup requires both the hands of a surgeon and the eyes of an artist. So, make sure you ask how many procedures the technician has performed, and check out their portfolio of before and after photos. We also recommend checking with The American Academy of Micropigmentation which is the accrediting organization for permanent cosmetics professionals to make sure you are choosing a reputable technician. Make sure the person you are considering to perform your permanent cosmetics is certified, meaning they’ve passed the oral, written, and practical exam for permanent makeup application.

So, now you know why permanent lip color is all the rage. If you have more questions or you would like to schedule a consultation, don’t hesitate to contact us. We look forward to accentuating your beauty very soon!

Kissable Lips

Kissable Lip Secrets Revealed

Cold weather wreaks havoc on our skin in the winter time, and our lips seem to always suffer the most. So how’s a gal to get soft, kissable lips when it’s cold and windy outside? Here are a few tips that we swear by.

Use Coconut Oil:
Dab coconut oil on your lips to keep them soft, shiny, and healthy. Coconut oil is a natural and amazing skin moisturizer. It has antibacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-microbial healing properties that are beneficial to the skin. The great part about coconut oil is that it tastes yummy and it’s edible. So it makes a great natural lip moisturizer for kids too!

Kiss Dry Lips Bye-Bye With a Natural Lip Exfoliant:
Sugar and Coconut Oil Scrub – Sugar acts as a natural exfoliant to gently remove dead skin cells to reveal baby-soft lips. Coconut oil aids in healing the skin while moisturizing. Mix the two and gently work across lips in a circular motion, then rinse.

Sugar & Honey Scrub – Honey is rich in natural antioxidants and has antimicrobial properties that facilitate the skin’s ability to rejuvenate. Honey also helps to absorb and retain moisture, keeping the skin well hydrated, fresh and supple. Mix up a little honey with sugar to get rid of dead skin, and to promote healing. Apply to lips by gently massaging it, then rinse.

Avoid Drugstore Chapsticks:
These products have chemicals like phenol, menthol, and salicylic acid that cause irritation and remove outer layers of the skin, making your lips drier. When your lips feel dry, you have to apply more chapstick, and it becomes a vicious cycle. You should also limit your use of lip products containing scents or added flavoring. The chemicals used to add scent and flavor can irritate your skin or cause allergies. When “fragrance” is listed as an ingredient, you can assume it’s synthetic—and not a blend of natural flower extracts.

Get Your Vitamins:
Using products that contain vitamins A and D are phenomenal. We love using A&D Ointment on lips as a skin healer. We use it in after our permanent cosmetics procedures to keep the skin moisturized while it heals. Vitamin A works to increase the rate of healing, as well as exfoliating – making skin smooth and even-toned. It repairs the cellular structure of the epidermis – optimizing your UV protection, and improves hydration.

New research has shown that the topical application of vitamin D3 on the skin increases the creation of protective peptides that help repair the skin and protect it from premature aging. Vitamin D3 plays a vital role in the production of specialized cells called keratinocytes, which are responsible for the production of millions of new healthy skin cells every few minutes. Keratinocytes create the structural framework that supports the skin tone and locks in the moisture the skin needs to stay supple and soft. Without the production of keratinocytes in the skin, the skin will dry out, wrinkle, and become thin and fragile.

Drink Water:
You’ve heard it over and over. Drink lots of water! Water is a vital element in overall good health, but it’s also key to keeping skin moist and supple. So if you want gorgeous skin and soft lips, this is truly the most important thing you can do.

We hope you find our tips helpful. Just one word of warning. Luscious lips may lead to excessive kissing.
