What is Microblading?

Microblading, also known as Eyebrow Embroidery, Eyebrow Feathering, Soft Tap Technique, or Japanese Method Makeup, is a form of Micropigmentation used by Permanent Cosmetics Professionals to create natural, semi-permanent eyebrows. Though Microblading is technically a form of Permanent Cosmetics tattooing, the process is unique as it involves using a handheld tool (rather than a digital or rotary machine) comprised of 6 to 14 micro-needles in the shape of a blade. The blade collects the pigment that is then deposited into the epidermis.

The color is implanted closer to the skin’s surface and the applied hair strokes appear crisp and very fine. There is no “spilling” of ink/ pigment under the skin, and the effects last up to 18 months, after which the pigment fades and leaves the skin.

This method is ideal for anyone wanting to enhance the look of his or her eyebrows. The results are natural-looking, hair-like strokes, regardless of the amount of hair present. People suffering from alopecia, trichotillomania, or any other conditions that causes hair loss benefit greatly from Microblading, as well as those who simply aren’t happy with their eyebrows.

The pigments used in this method have been formulated to match your original eyebrow color, and if the eyebrows are still present, they will blend perfectly into your natural brows. The results are a realistic, flawless, fuller-looking brow.

Our Certified Micropigmentation (Microblading) Professionals do not implant pigments as deep into the skin as a traditional tattoo or even micropigmentation with an electric permanent makeup device. This allows for healed results of very fine, thin, and crisp hairlines; however, results do not last as long as traditional methods. A color boost is usually required between 12-18 months. A touch-up may be required at 12 months or sooner for oily-skinned clients who tan often or often expose brow areas to certain chemicals (facial peels, chlorine, anti-aging products, etc.). Pigment retention varies depending on skin type, age, aftercare, immune system, medications, certain chemicals, and the type of pigment used.
