Lip Blushing

Lip Blushing – Everything You Need To Know

Did you know that as we age, not only do we lose the fullness of our lips, but we also lose our lip pigment? Over time, exposure to the sun, skincare products, and makeup contribute to this. Sure, there are lip injections to help give you a cute and pouty pucker, but it doesn’t address the loss of color. Not to mention injectables can be painful and costly.

But now there is a new way to improve your lip color and fullness without injections with a new process called Lip Blushing. Lip Blushing is a semi-permanent cosmetic (tattooing) procedure performed only by licensed Permanent Cosmetic Artists to enhance your mouth’s natural color and shape. Lip Blushing is achieved using a pixelating technique. The technique entails adding undetectable dots of pigment on the vermillion, the area just below the colored edge of the lips (where lipstick is applied), and blending into the Vermillion Border (where lip liner is usually applied).

Each client’s color is completely customized based on their natural lip color, skin tones, and desired outcome. We provide Lip Blushing consultations to discuss your ideal options and then determine your customized color. Before your consultation, we recommend trying various lipstick colors in different natural shades of pink, nude, and brown tones to see what meshes best with your skin tone. When you come for your consultation, bring your favorite colors, so we can get an idea of what you like as a starting point.

Healing time for Lip Blushing is short. It only takes about two weeks, and the fully developed color will be noticeable in about four weeks. After your lips have healed, we can perform a touch-up to adjust the shape and color or fill in spots that didn’t retain pigment during the healing process. Since this is a semi-permanent cosmetic procedure, clients usually get touch-ups every 1-2 years. The time between touch-ups can be extended by protecting your lips by using an SPF 15 or higher lip balm when you are in the sun and avoiding harsh chemicals, scrubs, and peels.

The great thing about Lip Blushing is even after you have it; you are never limited to just one look; you can still wear lipstick and lip liner and even get injectables. But when you are not wearing lipstick, your lips look beautiful, natural, and younger. However, if you get injectibles, ensure your lip filler appointments are 3 weeks before or 3 weeks after your Lip Blushing appointment. Also, be sure to read our pre-procedure information and after-care information for more details.

If you’re looking for permanent lip color in deeper shades with sharp lines, you should consider permanent full lip color and liner rather than Lip Blushing.

Also, some health conditions and other factors may make you ineligible for Lip Blushing, so be sure to discuss this with your Permanent Cosmetics Artist. Refer to our FAQ page to read answers to common questions about permanent and semi-permanent cosmetics.

Permanent Eyeshadow – Everything You Need To Know

Permanent eyeshadow is perhaps the most artistic practice of permanent eye makeup. Beautiful, natural-looking, multi-dimensional looks can be created to look just like natural eyeshadow. What makes permanent eyeshadow so fabulous is that, like other permanent makeup procedures, it cuts down on makeup application time, stays fresh and crisp looking day and night, and never smears or wears off. It’s waterproof, smudge-proof, and cry-proof – who doesn’t love that?

This highly advanced Permanent Makeup technique uses specialized patented needles and multiple shades of pigment to create a beautiful, natural eyelid enhancement. We use the latest state-of-the-art equipment and highest-grade pigments for all of our procedures. This ensures you receive the best-looking and longest-lasting permanent makeup results. We also offer endless pigment colors to choose from for your shadow, or we can create custom colors to design the perfect look for you!

Things to keep in mind before getting permanent eyeshadow.

There are more and more permanent makeup “technicians” popping up everywhere. Here at Fabulously Flawless, we use the word “technicians” very loosely because so many people performing permanent makeup are unlicensed and uncertified. Many have very little experience or hands-on classroom training. Frighteningly, we see clients on a weekly basis that drive from as far away as Tennessee, Virginia, and South Carolina to have their botched permanent makeup corrected and sometimes even removed. Before you choose a technician, MAKE SURE they are Certified Permanent Cosmetics Professionals and have certifications in micropigmentation as well as advanced training in permanent eyeshadow. Make sure they are licensed to perform these procedures. Check reviews and references and ask for their portfolio of work. It’s also a good idea to ask how many clients they have performed any given procedure on.

So remember, tattooing eyeshadow is a highly advanced form of permanent makeup and should never be attempted by someone who is not certified in this technique. In addition to proper training, the Professional Cosmetic Technician must use the right machine and needles set at a very low speed. Never allow a regular tattoo artist to perform any permanent makeup procedure, either. Don’t take chances with your beauty or health. Be sure to do your research before you undergo any procedure.
